ABOUT US

We have an 80 year history and strong community ties

We are an established and well respected choral society going back for more than three-quarters of century. Many of our older members have been with us for decades, while others have joined us only recently. We are friendly, local, non-auditioned mixed voice choir, rehearsing weekly in term time in Brentwood Essex. We aim to present the traditional choral repertoire whilst embracing new works and ideas. We very much enjoy our singing and the informal social atmosphere of our rehearsals. We aim to reach a high standard.

Founded by Dr Edgar Brice in 1941

BCS was founded by our long-standing former chairman David Brice’s father during the war. It is a testament to Edgar‘s vision and dedication that we are still going strong after all these years!

We welcome members at all skill levels…

Our Musical Director and supportive members will help you, and before you know it you will be singing with confidence.

Where and when our rehearsal take place…

We meet in Brentwood School‘s music room on Monday evenings. The venue has good access and parking close by.
