"A WELCOME "

FROM OUR

    MUSICAL DIRECTOR,

          NICHOLAS SHERWOOD

"My own experience of choral singing and conducting ranges from an amateur chorus in North Devon, to the BBC Singers, as well as deputising at Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral.

This has taught me both how important it is for communities and institutions to maintain their own musical performance groups, and how being involved in such activities enriches the lives of the members themselves - musically and indeed socially.

Brentwood Choral Society (BCS) is quite rightly described as - 'the town's own choir' - and your presence with us will help to ensure a rewarding future for both us and for you.

Brentwood Choral Society was founded in 1941 by the late Dr. Edgar Brice, Director of Music at Brentwood School. Over 65 years on, we are still going strong!

DR. EDGAR BRICE,

FOUNDER & CONDUCTOR OF BCS - 1941 to 1992

The Choral Society numbers about 30 dedicated and friendly musicians,

and performs small scale works in its own right,

yet is versatile enough to join forces with other

choirs around the region to perform larger scale works."
